Brian Stelter Out at CNN

Brain Stelter, host of ‘Reliable Sources’ will be let go from the network following his last episode on August 21.

Prior to joining CNN, Stelter was a media writer at the New York Times.  He became the host of ‘Reliable Sources’ in November 2013 as well as a chief media correspondent.

“We appreciate his contributions to the network and wish him well as he embarks on new endeavors,” CNN said in a statement.

The news network has come under new ownership (WarnerDiscovery) and now is being led by Chris Licht.  It was reported by Axios in June that Licht aims to reduce the partisan nature of the network’s programming, which grew more polarizing when Donald Trump won the presidency.  Licht is reportedly evaluating which on-air personalities are able to adapt to being less biased and more layoffs could be in the future.
