On Tuesday, President Joe Biden will celebrate the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
The bill, which was signed into law last month after passing through Congress along party lines, aims to address climate concerns and health care costs. The bill also seeks to raise taxes on large corporations.
The President will give an address touting the bill as a major win for middle-class families and criticize Republicans for their opposition to the legislation, according to White House officials. Vice President Kamala Harris will also deliver remarks.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has been critical of the bill, saying it will have “a negligible effect” on inflation in 2022. In 2023, the bill’s impact is expected to range between reducing inflation by 0.1% and increasing it by 0.1%
