What is This?

There must have been some floats Saturday at the Mardi Gras that riled up some folks along the parade route. Some paradegoers took to social media to state their disgust.

Most towns have ordinances against playing vulgar music and other conduct rules. We find it notable how some folks have standards that are pretty different than most.

“Anyone else disgusted with the Krewe de junk/krunk float from the parade on Saturday? Other floats as well but that one was the worst. It’s Mardi Gras Season, not time for a ratchet hip hop / rap night club on wheels. Isn’t there some sort of town ordinance for loudblasting vulgarity during a parade especially when there are children present?”

Please keep that in mind for the remaining Mardi Gras Parades. These are super fun to go to and be along the parade route, but if the associations get too much blowback because of this problem, they will reduce the number of floats allowed and make the parades less of an event. We have grand Mardi Gras celebrations, but disregarding rules is chasing some people away.
