Carencro Mardi Gras

Freedom 106.7, along with the City of Carencro, Carencro Police Department, Don’s Specialty Meats, and Bailey’s Cigar Shop, invite you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Carencro Mardi Gras Association Parade on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

 
 

Chief David Anderson and the Carencro Police Department want to remind the public of some important information for the 2023 Carencro Mardi Gras Parade. The parade will begin at 10:00 am in the 700 block of W. Butcher Switch Road, turn right on LA Hwy 182 (N. University Ave.), and end at Debutante Road.  Roads will be closed at 9:00 am. No one will be allowed to travel on the roadways once it is closed.

 
 

Other important information to keep in mind is:

  • Any vehicle blocking a roadway will be towed at the owner’s expense; this includes trailers and items placed along the parade route.

  • All parade goers are suggested to arrive at their destination along the parade route early.

  • The parade is expected to last approximately three hours; therefore, residents should make all necessary arrangements ahead of time to avoid inconveniences.

  • This is a family-friendly event. No sexually oriented items or items depicting illegal drugs are allowed to be sold, thrown, or displayed at the event.  No vulgar music will be tolerated by eventgoers or on floats.

  • No glass containers are allowed along the route.

  • Paintball guns, water guns, fog machines, and fireworks are prohibited.

 
 

Other helpful tips include:

  • Take a photo of your child on your mobile device before departing for the parade.

  • Dress children in bright clothing.

  • If your child has health conditions, please consider a medical info ban on their wrist.

  • Write your phone number out of sight on your child’s person.

  • No vehicles can be parked along the route until sunrise on Saturday Morning.
