Lafayette Police Department’s Youth Services Section arrested a Daycare Worker Arrested. This arrest stems from a report filed by the two-year-old victim’s parent of allegations of cruelty that occurred on April 28, 2023. The worker was arrested and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on one count of Cruelty to Juveniles.

The allegations were that on the above-mentioned date, the worker, who was employed at the time at a local daycare, grabbed the victim under her care and slammed him to the ground due to his not wanting to nap.  The worker was also observed placing the victim in a prone position on a mat where she placed her thigh on his lower back and used her body weight to restrict the victim from moving.
