Crowley, LA – Friends and family are coming together to support Bill Faulk, whose home was recently damaged by a fire. A series of fundraising events and donation drives have been organized to assist with the restoration of his home.
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, a major benefit event will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall (226 S Ave E, Crowley, LA), running from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This event promises a day of community spirit and entertainment, featuring a Jambalaya Cook-Off, live entertainment, a live and silent auction, concessions, and games for the whole family.
Jambalaya Cook-Off Details: The Jambalaya Cook-Off invites teams of four (including one captain) to compete. There is a $50 entry fee per team, and each team must serve at least 100 servings. Participants are required to use traditional jambalaya ingredients (pork, chicken, beef, or a combination) and no wild game. All cooking must be done on-site. Rice can be pre-cooked, and meat can be pre-seasoned/marinated prior to competition. All vegetables must be pre-cut but raw prior to inspection. Inspections begin at 7:00 AM, and tasting/judging starts at 11:30 AM. Bracelets for tasting will be sold for $5.00 each, and no one will be served without a bracelet. BBQ Burger Sale: In addition to the main event, a BBQ Burger Sale is also scheduled for August 16, 2025, with delivery starting at 11:00 AM. Burgers are priced at $3 each. Presale delivery is available for orders of 10 or more within Crowley.
Donations Being Accepted: For those wishing to contribute, donations are now being accepted for the live and silent auction. Donations can be dropped off at CheckPoint Urgent Care, located at 753 Odd Fellows Road, Monday-Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All monetary donations should be made payable to the “Bill Faulk Benefit Account.”
