Today’s Country Legend was born in the farming community of Peach, Texas on January 12th. His mother and step-father were fashion designers and they wanted him to follow in their footsteps. This held little appeal to the future Country Music Hall of Famer. For a short time he roomed with the legendaty Hank Williams, He served the United States Marine Corps after being drafted in 1944. He served in the Pacific Theater, He succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 84, when told
