What’s a cruelty-free way for a woman to turn down a date? Be honest but vague. She should say something like, “I’m really flattered, but I’ll have to say no.” If a woman tries to explain herself further, she’ll likely end up either getting caught in a lie, hurting his feelings, or caving and going out with him. As a rule, avoid the “I think we’re better off as friends” line – no one buys that.
