The Lafayette Fire Department is seeking applicants interested in the Fire Explorer program.

In response to the excessive heat advisory, Catholic Charities of Acadiana will operate a cooling station for those experiencing homelessness at St. Joseph Diner, located at 613 W. Simcoe Street in Lafayette. With the increased service, more volunteers are needed, and the Shelter is always welcome to donations.

A major fire in downtown Euncie was responded to by multiple fire units from around Acadiana. The popular restaurant in downtown Eunice burned for hours beginning sometime around midday on Saturday.
