Today’s Country Legend was born August 22 in De Queen, Arkansas

His mother was a local musician and opened for Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins

In a band with his brother they performed primarily in the state of Texas; Corvallis, Oregon; and later in Reno, Nevada;

With several hits only four would reach the top slot on the chart.

In 2011 became the national spokesperson for the Hope Network.
