Merle Haggard

Born April 6th in Oildale California in 1937 where he grew up in a converted boxcar

Lost his father at the age of nine, that lead to a troubled youth

Became on Country music’s greatest artist holding the banner for the workin man and singing and writing songs that connected with people of all walks of life.

He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of fame in 1994.

Passed away on his birthday in 2016 on his 79th birthday.
