Carencro police are investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead. Investigators said the victim was found shot to death on Collins Street.

According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, on January 1, 2024, Opelousas Police Officer Savannah Butler, 42, surrendered to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office by turning herself into the parish jail.

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Eunice man in connection with a shooting incident. This incident occurred on December 29, 2023.
