Parts of Acadia Parish reported seeing hail, some possibly bigger than golf ball-sized, as storms passed through the area. The Richard and Branch areas were pelted with golf ball-sized to baseball-sized hail, and some people there reported damage to their vehicles. There were also reports of hail south of Iota.

A man was killed after getting hit by a train in St. Landry Parish. Eunice police said they used fingerprints to identify the victim. Police said the investigation revealed he was sleeping on the tracks and woke up but could not get out of the way in time.
