An appeals court has upheld the firing of a former Lafayette police chief. The Third Circuit Court of Appeal backed a district court judge who found that the Civil Service Board was right to approve the firing of Thomas Glover.

There are big accolades for one Lafayette Parish school. The Early College Academy is the best performing school in Louisiana, according to newly released performance scores from the state education department. Vermilion Parish was the only district in Acadiana to receive an “A” grade. There were numerous “Bs,” including Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, and St. Mary parishes.
