Acadia Parish Gumbo Cookoff This Saturday

The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development invites you to the 21st Annual Gumbo-Cook-Off on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in the Southeast Corner of the Court Circle in Crowley, Louisiana.

Teams vying for the title of Gumbo Champion will compete in four categories: seafood, non-seafood with homemade roux, or jar roux. Awards will also be presented for People’s Choice and Best Decorated Booth.

This Saturday, it will take place in the Court Circle in Crowley, LA. Admission is $10, which includes ALL the GUMBO you can eat! Live entertainment starts at 11:00 am and includes fun activities for the kids! Gumbo will be ready at 11:30!

The Internation Rice festival kicks off Thursday.

The High School Football season continues this week with several games. Notre Dame host LCA Friday Night, Crowley travels to Pine Praie Thursday Night, Rayne travels to Westgate Thursday, Iota travels to Westlake, and Church Point travels to Northwest on Thursday.
