Baseball playoffs are here

Notre Dame, Rayne, Iota, Church Point, and Northside Christian are all participating in the LHSAA baseball playoffs.

 
 

Northside Christian will be on the road to Downsville to face their first-round opponent, while Church Point is traveling to Pine Prairie for their first-round game.

 
 

Notre Dame, Rayne, and Iota will enjoy a first-round bye. Rayne face the winner of North Desoto and Kaplan series this weekend, Rayne will host the regional round at Legion Field at Gossen Park, Iota awaits the winner of Grant and Belle Chasse as the number 2 seed Iota will be the host in the regional round. Notre Dame will go to New Iberia next week to face Catholic and play a tune-up doubleheader on Friday at Miller Stadium against St Louis on Friday afternoon at four.

 
 

Other area teams in the playoffs Eunice, who has bye in Division 2 Select along with Erath, North vermilion and Iota while Kaplan travels to North Desoto, In Division 3 non selects, Church Point travels to Pine Prairie while Port Barre travels to Pine. In Division 4, Non-select Delcambre hosts Merryville, Oakdale, and Welsh get a bye. On the select side, in Division 1, Acadiana gets a buy while Carencrcro faces Liberty at home. In Division 3, Select St. Thomas More, LCA, and Jennings get a bye while David Thobdaux hosts Tara. Division 4 Opelousas Catholic, Vermilion Catholic, and Sacred Heart all get byes, while St Edmund will host Riverside Academy.

 
 

The semifinals and finals will again be played at McMurray Park in Sulphur, May 7th through the 11th.
